H&R Block Deluxe + State 2025 + Norton 360 Bundle

Winner: H&R Block Tax Software Deluxe + State 2025

H&R Block Deluxe + State and the H&R Block Deluxe + Norton 360 bundle contain the same tax software. The bundle simply adds a Norton 360 antivirus subscription, so the real question is whether that security add-on justifies the higher price.

What is identical. Both include H&R Block Deluxe with federal plus one state, the same deduction and credit coverage (mortgage interest, donations, HSA, common investment income), the same guided interview, and the same accuracy guarantee. Your actual tax-filing experience is the same either way.

What the bundle adds. The extra cost buys a Norton 360 subscription - antivirus, a firewall, and usually some cloud backup and VPN allowance for a set number of devices. If you were already going to buy antivirus, bundling can be convenient and may cost less than purchasing both separately.

The honest math. If you already run security software you trust, or your operating system's built-in protection meets your needs, the bundle's premium is largely wasted, because the standalone Deluxe software gives you the identical tax product for much less. If you genuinely need a new antivirus subscription this year and like Norton, the bundle can be a reasonable one-purchase convenience.

Verdict. For most filers, buy the standalone H&R Block Deluxe and handle security separately. Only choose the Norton bundle if you actually need antivirus this year and the combined price beats buying the two products on their own.
